How Erick Persson chose the name Edavlson

Oral history says Erick Persson & Christina Andersdotter were married and came over to the U.S. from Sweden after joining the LDS church.  They changed their last name from Persson to Edvalson after the captain of the ship said there were too many Persson's and they needed to choose new last names.  Erick looked at the green mossy banks in Sweden and chose that for a name which is Edval.  EDVAL is "Green Mossy Bank".
